Doy style Packaging

A Doy Bag, more commonly known as a Doypack or Stand-Up Pouch, is a revolutionary flexible packaging format that has become a staple on retail shelves worldwide. Its defining feature, and the source of its success, is a unique bottom gusset that allows it to stand firmly upright on its own when filled, providing the shelf presence of a rigid box or jar with all the benefits of flexible film.

Invented in 1963 by Louis Doyen (the name “Doypack” comes from “Doyen” and “Packaging”), this design was engineered for one purpose: to be a “silent salesman.” It presents a large, flat front panel directly to the consumer, making it a powerful tool for branding and grabbing customer attention.

How does it work? The magic is in the “W-gusset” (or “U-gusset”) sealed into the bottom of the bag. When the pouch is empty, it lies completely flat, saving immense space.
