Vacuum Packing Machine

Vacuum packing machines are automated or semi-automated systems designed specifically to evacuate air from a package before creating a final, hermetic seal. Typically operating as vacuum chamber machines, thermoformers, or nozzle-type sealers, they are built for creating robust, air-tight packs for preservation and protection.

These machines are the essential solution for the food processing, catering, and electronics industries. They are used to create the familiar “skin-tight” packs for a vast range of products, including fresh meat, fish, cheese, cooked foods (for sous-vide), and sensitive electronic components.

By removing oxygen from the pack, these machines provide an incredibly effective and efficient way to extend product shelf life, prevent oxidation, improve hygiene, and reduce pack volume for storage and transport.

Why Choose Vacuum Packing machines

Vacuum packing systems are the definitive solution for product preservation and protection, offering unmatched shelf-life extension and quality control.

  • Massive Shelf-Life Extension This is the core purpose. By removing oxygen, the machine inhibits the growth of aerobic bacteria and fungi, which are the primary causes of spoilage. This dramatically extends the freshness, flavour, colour, and safe storage time of food products, significantly reducing waste.

  • Ultimate Product Quality & Protection The vacuum-sealed pack forms a tough, moisture-proof “second skin.” This prevents freezer burn on frozen goods, stops product dehydration, and locks in moisture and flavour. For non-food items, it provides a barrier against dust, moisture, and oxidation.

  • Reduced Volume & Improved Presentation Removing all air “compresses” the package, making it more compact and efficient for stacking, storage, and transport. It also creates a professional, hygienic, and highly presentable pack, which is essential for retail display and for use in sous-vide cooking.

Key Features of Vacuum Packing machines

blue cog

Stainless Steel Vacuum Chamber

The core component (in chamber machines). The product, inside its pouch, is placed within a sealed chamber. When activated, a pump evacuates all air from the entire chamber (not just the pouch), ensuring air pressure is equal inside and out, preventing liquids from being "sucked" out.

blue cog

High-Capacity Vacuum Pump

The "heart" of the machine. This is a powerful rotary vane pump that rapidly removes air from the chamber to achieve a very high vacuum level (e.g., 99.8% air removal). The pump's size (measured in m³/hr) dictates the overall cycle speed.

blue cog

Impulse Heat Sealing Bar(s)

Located inside the chamber. Once the target vacuum level is reached, one or more sealing bars (often with a cut-off wire) press the open end of the pouch closed, creating a wide, strong, and immediate hermetic seal before air is allowed back into the chamber.

Optional Gas Flushing (MAP) System

For delicate items (like salads, crisps, or soft cheese), the machine can be equipped for Modified Atmosphere Packaging. After pulling the vacuum, it back-flushes the pouch with a protective, inert gas mixture (like nitrogen or CO2) before sealing, preventing the product from being crushed.

Digital Controller with Vacuum Sensor

Modern machines use an intuitive digital controller. This allows the operator to precisely set the required vacuum level (as a percentage or time) and the sealing time, storing "recipes" for different products to ensure a perfect, consistent result every time.

Vacuum Packing machines - frequently asked questions

By removing oxygen, it inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi, dramatically extending shelf life.

Chamber machines evacuate air from the entire area, allowing you to vacuum seal liquids like soups and sauces without mess.

No, you must use specific vacuum pouches (PA/PE) designed to be airtight and withstand pressure.

Replacing the removed air with an inert gas (like Nitrogen) to protect delicate products from being crushed.

Yes, by forming a moisture-proof skin, it prevents dehydration and ice crystal damage during long-term freezing.
