Stick Packaging Machines
Stick packaging machines are specialized equipment designed to produce single-serve, tubular packets known as “stick packs.” They are compact and convenient packages. Stick packs are used in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. They are used to hold powders, liquids, granules, and other products.
The 7-Step Process of Stick Pack Machines
Film Transport and Unwind: The process starts with a roll of flexible packaging film, which is positioned at the rear of the machine. The film is unwound and fed into the machine using a series of rollers to maintain proper film tension.
Film Cutting: The continuous film is then cut into individual sections using motorized cutting discs or knives. This creates the “stick pack” shape.
Stick Pack Forming: The cut film sections are formed into the final stick pack shape by passing over forming tubes. This creates either a lap seal or fin seal along the length of the stick pack.
Stick Pack Filling and Sealing: The formed stick packs are then filled with the desired product, whether powder, liquid, or granules. Vertical sealing jaws then seal the top and bottom of each stick pack.
Stick Pack Discharge: The completed, sealed stick packs are then discharged from the machine, typically onto a conveyor belt for further packaging.
