The core of the machine is a thermally-insulated tunnel containing multiple heating elements (often fin-strip or infrared). This design allows for rapid heat-up and, crucially, maintains a stable, consistent temperature for an even shrink.
This is the key to a quality finish. A system of high-velocity fans, blowers, and adjustable louvres (dampers) forces the hot air to circulate and hit the pack from all angles (top, bottom, and sides), ensuring a uniform, "dog-ear-free" shrink.
