Complete, Six-Sided Product Protection This is the core purpose. Unlike a sleeve wrapper, an L-Sealer creates a fully enclosed bag around the product. Once shrunk, this provides a total barrier, protecting the item from all sides against dust, moisture, dirt, and scuffing.

The defining feature of the machine. This is a single, heated "L" shaped jaw (or wire) that descends to perform two seals simultaneously: it seals the "front" edge of the pack and the "side" edge, cutting it free from the film roll in one single motion.
A separator plate or "inverting head" is positioned to open the centre-folded film, creating a clear opening. On semi-automatic models, the operator manually slides the product into this film pocket and up to the sealing bar.
The sealing bar is heated in one of two ways. Impulse Wires are common on manual machines, heating up and cooling down for each cycle. High-speed Automatic L-Sealers use a constantly-heated, PTFE-coated Hot Knife for a faster, more durable seal.
When the L-seal is made, a small, triangular piece of "scrap" film is cut away. On automatic machines, this scrap is immediately drawn away from the sealing area and wound onto an automatic spool, keeping the machine clear and running continuously.
The machine is designed to work as one system with a shrink tunnel. The discharge conveyor of the wrapper feeds the loosely wrapped bundle directly into the tunnel, where the controlled heat is applied to shrink the film and create the final, tight transit pack.
