Shrink Wrapper Machines

Shrink wrapper machines are automated or semi-automated systems designed specifically to enclose a product or group of products in a loose bag of polymer film, in preparation for heat shrinking. Typically operating as L-sealers, side sealers, or sleeve wrappers, they are built for high-output, reliable, and versatile packaging.

These machines are the essential solution for the food, beverage, co-packing, and consumer goods industries. They are used to create the initial film “bag” or “sleeve” around a vast range of products, including individual retail boxes (software, cosmetics), collated multi-packs (cans, bottles), and large transit bundles.

By integrating seamlessly with an infeed conveyor and a downstream shrink tunnel, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and cost-effective way to collate, unitise, and protect products for retail display, storage, or distribution.

Chamber Shrink Machines are the ideal “all-in-one” solution for low-to-medium volume vinyl packaging, combining the sealing and shrinking processes into a single, compact unit. Unlike L-Sealers which require a separate tunnel, chamber machines perform the entire operation within a transparent hood, making them perfect for environments where floor space is at a premium.

These machines are a favourite among independent record shops, boutique labels, and archivists. They allow operators to professionally wrap used stock (re-sleeving) or seal limited edition pressings without the footprint or energy consumption of an industrial line.

The process is simple and intuitive: the operator places the record inside the film, lowers the hood, and the machine automatically seals the pouch and applies hot air to shrink the film—all in a matter of seconds. This simultaneous action ensures the film is moulded gently around the record, offering a controlled finish that protects the vinyl while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the sleeve.

L-Sealer machines are the industry standard for packaging vinyl records, designed to fully enclose LPs, 12-inch singles, and box sets in a secure “bag” of shrink film. Operating as semi-automatic units, they offer the perfect balance of speed and operator control, ensuring reliable, consistent sealing for individual records or small batches in preparation for the shrink tunnel.

These machines are the essential solution for independent labels, pressing plants, and record distributors. They allow you to create the familiar, glossy, all-over wrap seen in record shops worldwide—protecting everything from standard single sleeves to heavyweight gatefolds.

By integrating a unique two-sided sealing system, these machines provide a cost-effective way to create a retail-ready, tamper-evident pack. Whether you are sealing a limited run of 180g coloured vinyl or a standard repress, the semi-automatic L-Sealer feeds seamlessly into a shrink tunnel for a finish that rivals major label releases.

Side sealing shrink wrappers are high-speed, fully automatic systems designed specifically for creating continuous, three-sided seals on products of varying lengths. Operating as a continuous motion or intermittent system, they are built for high-output, reliable, and flexible production of fully enclosed, retail-ready packs.

These machines are the essential, high-performance solution for the co-packing, print, e-commerce, and food industries. They are used to create a premium, all-over wrap for a vast range of products, especially those with infinite or variable lengths, such as planks of wood, flat-pack furniture, pizzas, or for high-speed wrapping of individual boxes.

By integrating a continuous side-sealing mechanism with a high-speed cross-seal, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and versatile way to create a secure, tamper-evident, and aesthetically pleasing package for retail or distribution.

L-Sealer machines are versatile packaging systems designed specifically to fully enclose a product in a “bag” of shrink film. Operating as semi-automatic (manual) or fully-automatic inline units, they are built for reliable, consistent sealing of individual items or collations in preparation for shrink-tunnel heating.

These machines are the essential solution for the retail, print, co-packing, and food industries. They are used to create the familiar, glossy, all-over wrap for a vast range of products, including individual boxes (software, cosmetics, games), bakery items (cakes, pizza), and printed goods (magazines, calendars).

By integrating a unique two-sided sealing system, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and cost-effective way to create a secure, tamper-evident, and retail-ready pack, feeding it seamlessly into a shrink tunnel for the final, tight finish.

Sleeve wrapping machines are automated, inline systems designed specifically to bundle a group of products into a “sleeve” of film. Typically operating as the first stage of a “shrink bundling” line, they are built for high-output, reliable, and cost-effective collation of cans, bottles, cartons, and other rigid items.

These machines are the essential solution for the beverage, food, co-packing, and consumer goods industries. They are used to create the familiar “bullseye” or “keyhole” transit packs for multi-packs of products, tightly collating them using a band of film instead of a full cardboard case or tray.

By integrating a product collation system with a high-speed sealing jaw, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and material-saving way to prepare goods for bulk distribution, storage, and transport.

Shrink tunnel machines are continuous-motion heating systems designed specifically to apply controlled heat to pre-wrapped polymer films. Typically operating inline with an L-sealer or a sleeve wrapper, they are built for high-output, reliable production of tight, secure, and tamper-evident finished packs.

These machines are the essential solution for the food, beverage, co-packing, print, and consumer goods industries. They are used to create the familiar, glossy, “skin-tight” finish on a vast range of products, including collated multi-packs (cans, bottles), retail boxes (software, games, cosmetics), and transit bundles.

By integrating a precision-controlled heating chamber with a variable-speed conveyor, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and cost-effective way to collate, protect, and enhance the retail presentation of products for distribution.z

Why choose Shrink Wrapper machines

Shrink wrapping systems are the definitive solution for high-volume collation and retail packaging, offering unmatched versatility, protection, and cost-efficiency.

  • Versatile Collation & Unitising This is the core purpose. Shrink wrappers are ideal for bundling multiple items together (like a 6-pack of bottles or a stack of boxes) into a single, easy-to-handle pack. This is often far more cost-effective and lighter than using traditional cardboard trays or boxes.

  • Product Protection & Tamper-Evidence The wrapping process provides a complete, sealed barrier against dust, moisture, and scuffing. Once shrunk, the film also acts as a robust, tamper-evident layer, giving consumers confidence that the product has not been opened or compromised.

  • High-Speed, Low-Cost Operation A single automatic wrapper can process thousands of packs per hour, matching the speed of high-output production lines. The polyolefin or polyethylene film used is a very low-cost material, making it one of the most economical ways to create a secure, retail-ready final pack.

Key Features of Shrink Wrapper machines

Film Sealing System (L-Sealer or Sleeve Wrapper)

The machine's core is its sealing technology. An L-Sealer has a two-sided (L-shaped) sealing bar to create a fully-enclosed bag for retail packs. A Sleeve Wrapper (or "bullseye" wrapper) uses a single seal bar to create a film sleeve or "curtain" for bundling collations.

Film Feed & Inverting Head

The system that holds the main roll of film. On an L-sealer, this uses centre-folded film, which is opened up by an "inverting head" (or "plough") to create a pocket for the product. Sleeve wrappers typically use two separate rolls of flat film (top and bottom).

Automatic Product Infeed

A variable-speed infeed conveyor (often with a sensor) automatically detects and spaces the product. In fully automatic systems, a "pusher" or "fly-bar" then moves the product group from the infeed conveyor, through the film curtain, and into the sealing area

Hot Knife or Impulse Sealing Jaws

The mechanism that cuts the film and seals the pack. Impulse Wires are common on semi-automatic machines for a simple, clean seal. High-speed automatic systems use a permanently heated Hot Knife, often PTFE-coated, for a faster, stronger, and more durable seal on polyolefin films.

Discharge & Closing Conveyor

After the product is sealed, a short "closing" conveyor automatically activates to move the loosely-bagged product out of the sealing area. This ensures the next product can be fed in immediately and provides a smooth transfer to the downstream shrink tunnel.
