Pouch packing machines are automated, high-speed systems designed specifically for filling and sealing pre-made pouches. Typically operating as rotary (carousel) or inline (walking beam) systems, they are built for high-output, reliable production of stand-up pouches (Doypacks), 3-side seal bags, and quad-seal bags.
These machines are the essential solution for the food, pet food, pharmaceutical, and consumer goods industries. They are used to create premium, retail-ready packs for a vast range of products, including liquids (soups, sauces), powders (protein, coffee), granules (rice, pet food), and solid items (snacks, confectionery).
By integrating high-accuracy dosing systems (like multihead weighers or auger fillers) with versatile pouch handling, these machines provide an incredibly efficient and high-quality way to package products for retail, food service, and bulk sale.
Pouch packing machines are the definitive solution for high-quality, flexible packaging, offering premium shelf-presence and maximum consumer convenience.
Premium Shelf-Presence & Brand Appeal This is the core purpose. Pre-made pouches offer a large, high-quality print area (front and back), stand-up capability (Doypack), and a premium feel. This is ideal for retail environments, allowing brands to stand out on the shelf far more effectively than simple pillow bags or cartons.
Ultimate Feature Flexibility Unlike VFFS, these machines are designed to handle complex pre-made pouches. This allows for the simple integration of premium features like re-sealable zips, hang-holes for retail, and spouts for liquids (e.g., baby food, cleaning products), offering maximum convenience to the end-user.
High-Speed, Automated Operation A single rotary pouch machine automates the entire pick-open-fill-seal process at high speed. It eliminates all manual handling, providing consistent, reliable throughput (often 40-100+ pouches per minute) and significantly reducing labour costs within a compact factory footprint.
Record Packaging Systems preventative maintenance contracts offer a comprehensive solution covering all types of packaging machinery and accessories. This ensures the operational integrity of your equipment.

The machine is designed with multiple 'stations' (e.g., 6, 8, or 10) arranged on a central rotating turret. The pouch is indexed from station to station, allowing one dedicated action (e.g., pick, open, fill, seal) to be performed at each stop.
A dedicated mechanical arm or vacuum system grips a single pre-made pouch from a magazine. A separate system (often vacuum cups or mechanical fingers) then positively pulls the pouch open, ready for filling, and inflates it with an air jet.
The machine is paired with a dedicated, high-accuracy filler. This can be a Multihead Weigher (for snacks, solids), an Auger Filler (for powders like coffee), or a Liquid Pump Filler (for sauces, soups), which doses the product into the open pouch.
For pouches supplied with a pre-applied zipper, a dedicated station uses mechanical fingers or air jets to pull the zip open just before the main pouch opening, ensuring the product is filled below the re-sealable feature.
After filling, a set of heated sealing bars presses the pouch top closed, creating a strong, hermetic seal. An optional set of cooling bars then flattens and strengthens the seal. This station often integrates an embossing or inkjet coder for printing date codes.

Pouch packing machines typically handle “pre-made” pouches, picking them from a magazine to open, fill, and seal them.
They offer a premium, high-quality shelf appearance and can include zips and spouts more easily than VFFS.
Yes, rotary pouch machines are the industry standard for stand-up pouches (Doypacks).
Most modern machines feature quick-change grippers that can be adjusted in under 15 minutes.
They integrate with multihead weighers, liquid fillers, or auger systems depending on the product.
