How it works: This is the industry standard for sheer volume. The sealing jaws rotate in a continuous circular motion, cutting and sealing the film in one fluid action without stopping the product flow.

• Best for: Robust, regular-shaped products that can withstand being pushed along a conveyor.
• Common Machines: Record Scorpion E, Record Sparrow, Panda 1000.
• The User: High-volume manufacturers of biscuits, chocolate bars, snacks, and hardware. If your priority is “Packs Per Minute” (PPM) and your product is solid and stable, Rotary Motion is your most cost-effective and efficient choice.

Box Motion (Long Dwell): The Freshness Specialist

How it works: Unlike the quick “clip” of a rotary jaw, Box Motion jaws move in a rectangular path. They travel along with the film, clamping down for an extended period (the “dwell time”) before releasing.

• Best for: Products requiring a 100% airtight (hermetic) seal or those using thick, high-barrier films.
• Common Machines: Record Jaguar MD LS, Record Panda MD.
• The User: Producers of fresh meat, cheese, and medical devices. Because the “Long Dwell” time ensures heat penetrates deeply into the film, it is the benchmark for Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP), where gas-flushing is used to extend shelf life.

Inverted Rotary Motion: The Delicate Handling Specialist

How it works: In a standard machine, film is fed from above. In an Inverted machine, the film is fed from below. The product is placed directly onto the film and carried through the machine.

• Best for: Soft, sticky, or multi-pack items that would snag or break if pushed by a traditional lug-chain.
• Common Machines: Record Scorpion (Inverted models).
• The User: Artisanal bakeries and confectionery brands. If you are wrapping sticky buns, soft cakes, or loose multipacks that are difficult to “push,” the Inverted Rotary system provides high-speed output with a gentle touch.

Inverted Box Motion: The Premium “All-Rounder”

How it works: This system combines the bottom-film-feed of an Inverted machine with the high-integrity sealing of Box Motion. It is the most technologically advanced configuration in the range.

• Best for: Heavy, wet, or extremely delicate products that also require an airtight seal.
• Common Machines: Record Superb 550.
• The User: Fresh poultry, fish, and soft-cheese producers. These users need the product carried gently (Inverted) to prevent contamination of the seal area, but they also require a hermetic, gas-flushed seal (Box Motion) to meet supermarket safety standards.
